About me

My interest in music production started when I was 12 and randomly heard the music of Skrillex and Deadmau5 for the first time, probably on Youtube via a recommended video or something. I was instantly hooked. I thought to myself, “what is this? This is crazy!”

I realized I loved electronic music. It was the first time in my life I found music I liked on my own and not just given to me by friends or family.

A year later, my Dad’s customer converted an entire room in his house to be a home studio. Knowing I had an interest, my Dad brought it to his attention and asked if I could come hangout for a day. He agreed and invited me over, to which I happily accepted. My mom drove us over a few days later.

He showed me the basics of Ableton and had a bunch of gear. He invited me to choose sounds and loops that I liked and showed me how to layer things and structure a song. I was so fascinated and intrigued about how it all worked. Hours flew by like minutes.

By the end of the session, I had created my first song! It was a simple little house tune, but it was mine (although he did most of the work). That feeling of creating something from nothing and being able to express yourself through selecting and layering sounds and effects is what keeps me creating today. I was hooked.

That next summer, I told my Dad that I wanted Ableton and a  computer to run it. He told me I could, but I had to work for it. So I did! He let me work with him all summer, withholding my funds until the very end where he brought me to an Apple store and bought me my first Mac, and later purchasing Ableton. This was in 2013.

Although my music taste and the music I create has drastically changed since then, I still carry the same enthusiasm for production I had since I was a kid. At the end of the day, I just hope to have the same impact on others that people way more talented than me have had on me.

When I was 18, I got diagnosed with stage II testicular cancer. I had surgery and completed 3 rounds of chemotherapy, which took about 2 months. It was by far the most difficult time of my life, but without a doubt I am a better person for it. Not only did I feel a surreal sense of gratitude at such a young age, but it also forced me to value myself and come to terms with my life in a way that no other experience could have ever taught me.

This experience showed me that life is so easily wasted spending time on conforming to what other’s think, which is acceptable to some degree, but not when it dictates how you think and feel about your life. I realized I needed to do what was right for me, even if it’s not right for others. I wanted to create a life that I enjoyed living, and not just do what was typical or expected.

This is why I’m still pursuing my dream of becoming a music producer. Even if it doesn’t workout, I need to know that I gave it my best. I love it too much to not even try.

As of right now, all of my music is written, performed, arranged, produced, mixed, and mastered by me, unless stated otherwise. All of the cover art is created by me with the exception of Say What You Know, which was conceptualized by me, but later outsourced to beartrix on Fiverr.com.

Thank you for listening and please feel free to email me and introduce yourself.
